How much material do you need for testing? +

Usually 50-200 grams (about a handful) for basic material identification and composition tests. For performance testing (mechanical properties, etc.), we typically need 3-5 kg of material. For some tests, we can work with a finished product piece. We'll tell you exactly how much based on what tests you need.

How is this different from regular quality inspection? +

Quality inspection checks if parts look right and measure right. Our material testing checks what the material IS at the chemical level or tests material properties, color, flame retardancy, and other characteristics. It catches problems that visual checks miss, like wrong plastic type or hidden additives, as well as material performance fluctuations.

What testing methods do you use? +

We use standard scientific methods like FTIR (identifies plastic type), DSC (checks thermal properties), and others as needed. We explain what each test shows in simple terms. The key is we use proper lab equipment, not just guesswork.

Can you test engineering plastics or special materials? +

Yes. From basic plastics to engineering grades (like nylon, PEEK) to special compounds. We're familiar with different material types and know what to look for in each.

What if the material doesn't match what was promised? +

Then the test has done its job! You now have scientific proof to discuss with your supplier. We'll explain what we found and suggest possible next steps (negotiate, find new supplier, adjust requirements, etc.). The decision is yours, but now you have facts.
